I have always loved mari dade’s sporty and yet chic fashion sense. I wanted to post their 2007 collection for spring wear but only selected members are allow to view it. So all i have is their 2006 spring collection. It’s awesome, and i am still completely enamoured over their luxury wear hehe.
Here are some pictures for you to feast your eyes upon:

I really like the third picture a lot simply because it’s so elegant without the age factor :)

I found a website which sells kimonos online called i-Kimono. They have everything that makes up for a traditional Japanese outfit here from the undergarments to the various kimonos -used and unused. Lots of them are refurbished kimonos though, which is why they’re rather cheap at 4000Yen up. The site comes in English and Japanese, which makes them a pretty user-friendly and international site. They ship internationally as well, which is pretty cool. They accept visa, master card, Amex and JCB. They even accept Paypal too!
I don’t know who would buy kimono online (used or unused) because just like any clothes you should never get them online because there’s a fair chance they don’t fit you size wise and other variables. Maybe this one is just for people who wants to order kimono as part of their decoration. I saw a show downtown that has a row of pin up kimonos on their wall. It was very cool.
I personally would like to own a kimono, along with traditional costumes from other cultures like the Chinese, Indian and Thai. I think they have awesome traditional costumes.

No, i don’t think they found a new gold mine somewhere in Japan this time. It’s just that the Gold fashion statement is back again in Japan. Gold jewelry (ew), gold buttons, gold bag, gold shoes, gold scarfs, gold skirts, etc…just you name it, all thing un-gold is being replaced like right this instant as I am typing.
Gold was popular in the 80’s…which is actually one of the worse fashion eras in our lives - shoulder pads, carrot cut pants, and those big hairs, trashy make up…… Please let this not be another 80’s. I have nothing against the color gold except for in jewelry. I hate gold jewelry and prefer to opt for silver, white gold or platinum. I still kept that gold bracelet my dad gave me as a sentimental item but it won’t be appearing on my wrist anytime soon. But that doesn’t change that the Gold Rush is back in the fashion industry.
Here are some goldies for you:
Gold Bag from Botkier
Juicy Coutour “Peggy” Flats
Rebecca Norman’s Gold Cuff
Chanel Soft Touch Eyeshadow in Gold
Anna Maa’s ring
Gold Pendent
That’s all the gold I have for now.

I swung over to AsiaJam.com to check out what other kawaii stuff they have available and I am happy to say that I landed on the bag’s section. Well, it’s an involuntary twitch of my fingers that made me click on the Bag section. I have been shopping for a handbag for a while now and I still haven’t found one that I like. These bags in AsiaJam are pretty cutesy. They do not suit my wardrobe although I had plenty of fun looking through them. They’re colorful, cute, unique and they almost gave me an epileptic fit with the colors. It’s definitely worth the mention.
For those who don’t know me, I’m partial to simple and not so colorful designs - in short i like mature, practical and elegant stuff. Maybe it’s because of my age…I’m only twent….hah, no way am I disclosing that in public :P
Here are some bags from AsiaJam, i think they’re different and cute:
Of course, Japan wouldn’t be the same without something Hello Kitty :P The only bags I see myself buying, if all the other bag shops are burnt down and if humanity depended on my buying a bag is probably the last two bags.

While certain fashion trends come and go like the wind, there are those that stay for a very looooong time. LIke for example jeans. Jeans are perhaps the most worn pants in the world because of its durability and comfort. Of course, we can forget its fashion. A pair of skinny jeans can flatter just about anyone if you get the right cut.
In Japan, Red Monkey Jeans seems to be doing perfectly great with its sales and popularity. It is the most searched jeans in Yahoo! surpassing Levi’s and Diesel.
Red Monkey Jeans are the brainchild of Martin Ksohoh from Hong Kong and are made from specially engineered cotton from China which is woven and dyed using the indigo rope dying method to produce high quality and unique denim. The jeans also carry a very distinctive embroidered Japanese influenced back pocket designs of geishas, crashing waves and dragons.
Made in China for the mass, just like everything branded in the world..:) Okay so why is it so fricking popular?? Well, we know why now. Big names in the music industry like P. Diddy and Jay-Z are wearing it…so of course, like monkeys see and monkey do, the mass follows. However, it is without a doubt that these jeans looks cool though. The westerners are suckers for oriental designs and prints, hence the dragons and phoenixes and chinese and japanese characters. The name Red Monkey is even mentioned in songs too - raps of course.
These jeans are made in very special and limited edition so getting them may be a fuss. Of course, it’s not exactly friendly to your pockets too. A pair of Red Monkey jeans, with its signature embroidered dragons and what not, could set you back £300 ($600) a pair! That’s some pretty expensive pair of jeans but you get the consolation that there are perhaps only 20 pairs in the whole wide world.
Beware of imitations in eBay though.

Japanese teens are crazy about stuff that’s kawai and you can see it in the way they wear their jewelries. Most of them are costume jewelries of course, although there is the occasionaly branded stuff here and there. A lot of these accessories look like the accessories you see on a little girl’s toy doll…. Oh well, here are some cutesy accessories I found from this particular site; AsiaJam:
polka dot hairclips
plaid bow hairclip
piggy bank ring
picnic lolita headband
mashimaro earrings
hello kitty studded ring
candy earrings
purple candy bracelet

If it’s one thing I hate about winter, it has to be puffy jackets. I hate how i look in them but then I like how it looks on others - especially really slim women. However, i don’t really wish I have a skinny ass to pull the puffy jacket off. I like my fashionable trenchcoats. But anyway, puffy jackets are purportedly in - not only for it’s functionality but also for it’s fashion. What fashion??
That’s what I asked too but it seems that they’ve managed to make people look less like a ball when they put on the puffy jacket. How? One word - Distractions. When you tie a puffball in the center, you’ll get an hourglass shape puff. And if you add a bit of fur here and there, you have a nice mink wannabe coat. Or make it shiny, people will be blinded by the glint that they won’t notice how ridiculous you look. Well, whatever it is, I am laying off puffy jackets simply because they make me look like frosty the snowman.
Here are some pictures of fashionable puffy jackets I won’t wear:
Oh I kinda like the black puffy trenchcoat, I think if i wear it, I’ll look more like a long cotton candy than a round puff. I think i’ll need some heels to go with it too so I won’t look like a midget even though I’m 5′4.

This little black grey dress is really cute and pretty. The designer of this dress is none other than Yohji Yamamoto, a name that is NO stranger to the fashionista’s world. Now the thing is, I don’t know if I can wear it everyday. I don’t live a life like those girls in Sex and The City where it’s all flamboyant and all that.
Now take a look at this dress and tell me if it’s not beautiful…it’s gorgeous!

Doesn’t it look like it’s swaying around even it’s evidently in a room with no window’s open? Yes, that’s Yohji-san for you. His designs have always been very artistically intune with nature and abstract. If you haven’t seen his designs, you’ll get extravagance, elegance and feminine all rolled into one. He loves the perspective of women being really feminine it seems. I don’t mind it, I think women should be feminine since we are females but should not be wimpy at the same time. :P

I love earrings. Hence, I am featuring earrings in today’s fashionista post! When I was a teenager, not too long ago *ahem*, I use to collect earrings. I love those dangly ones, those chunky ones, those little dainty ones, i even love those clip on ones. My grandma use to have a nice flower clip on ones which I often take off her ear without her noticing :P
Anyway, i found some really nice earrings that I think will compliment just about any fashion. Since in Japan, the more one piece contradicts the other, the better it is, I suppose any of these pretty earrings will do since they’re pretty. Just put them together with those army boots, yo!
Here are 7 earrings for different days of the week.

I love bohemian styled earrings, i use to own about 30 pairs of bohemian earrings. I still have them but most of them have missing pieces to them. Sigh.
Well, here are some earrings I found at a site that I thought was pretty :D Go visit Onatako.com and look at the accessories they have there. They’re pretty decent, both in looks and price.

…I would like to put up some cutesy pictures of babydoll dresses for all to see. I am surprised that there aren’t as many pink ones popping up in front of my face yet (i hate the color pink) but here they are. Oh some of the babydoll dresses have a bit of a bohemian feel to it, i think. Don’t you think so?

All images are taken from this really cool site called Handbag. The dresses comes from brands like Prada, Tara Jarmon, Margo London among a few, they are all UK designers too. Prices for these babydoll dresses range from BP105-BP290.
I really like the red one :)
